Southeast Valley Ledger ? 2012 PMBR race results

APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. ? On Saturday, October 20th, Apache Junction Parks and Recreation teamed up with Mountain Health and Wellness (MHW) to host the Fall Powerline Mountain Bike Race at Prospector Park.? This race was created 4 years ago to appeal to first time racers as well as seasoned pros that live in the East Valley.? The Beginner Division rode one lap for about 4.3 miles, and everyone else rode 3 laps for about 13 miles.? It was a beautiful day, even perfect weather for a bike race and a great way to enjoy some exercise with great people.? Along with the first through third place in each division receiving awards MHW offered a $100 cash prize to the over first place male and female racers. The results are as follows: *Greg Schultejann was the overall male winner. The solo female competitor was unable to finish the three laps.

In conjunction with the race we offered a free instructor led youth ride that kids and families rode through various areas of the park and a free MHW Tour. The MHW Tour was an instructor led ride designed for MHW clients that took them through various parts of the race course.
