Seminole Chiefs seek coaches
SEMINOLE ? The Seminole Chiefs youth football organization is accepting applications for team coaches. The Chiefs play games at the Seminole Youth Athletic Association facility at 12100 90th Ave. The season runs from August through November. Deadline for applications is March 1. The Chiefs are also looking for cheer coaches. For more information, visit www.seminolechiefs.org.

Youth hoops set in St. Pete BeachST. PETE BEACH ? The city of St. Pete Beach Recreation Department has partnered with the NBA and the Orlando Magic to be a part of its youth basketball program. The program offers two coed age divisions ? Grades 3-5 and 6-8. The cost is $90 per player. Registration is set at the St. Pete Beach Recreation Center, 7701 Boca Ciega Drive, on the following days:

? Saturday, March 2, 10 a.m. to noon.

? Thursday, March 6, 6 to 8 p.m.

? Saturday, March 9, 10 a.m. to noon.

? Thursday, March 13, 6 to 8 p.m.

? Saturday, March 16, 10 a.m. to noon.

Participation in the program includes a reversible Junior Magic jersey, a certificate of achievement and trophy and a free ticket to a Magic home game. League play begins in April and continues through late June with a 10-game schedule, plus a tournament. Teams play against each other and practice once a week, with games one to two times a week, Thursday and Saturday. All games will be played at the St. Pete Beach Recreation Center. Volunteers needed for PGA event
PALM HARBOR ? The Tampa Bay Championship is in need of volunteers for the upcoming PGA Tour event March 11-17 on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook. The volunteer agreement includes apparel, tournament admission when not volunteering, discounted golf ? all while helping the PGA Tour event raise funds for Tampa Bay area charities. Upgrade2Success 5K run scheduled
LARGO ? The Upgrade2Succes 5K and 1-mile fun run will take place Saturday, March 16, 8 a.m., at Wasingham Park in Largo. Early registration is $20 through March 1. Registered adults can enter up to two children under 18 for free. Register online at www.GulfCoastGiving.org/run" target="_blank">www.GulfCoastGiving.org/run. Proceeds will benefit Pinellas County schools with IT equipment and provide training for staff and students. In addition, a portion of the race proceeds will go toward a relief fund for Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Registration open for Stampede 5K
SEMINOLE ? Registration is under way for the annual Seminole Stampede 5K and 1-mile fun run Saturday, April 6, 7:30 a.m., at Walsingham Park, 12620 102nd Ave. The entry fee for the 5K is $20 on or before April 2 and $25 thereafter. The fee for the 1-mile run is $10 on or before April 2 and $15 after. Race participants will receive a T-shirt and post race awards party. Awards will be given to the first-place overall male and female, first pklace master male and females, and the top three in in a variety of male and female age classes.
